05.12.2011 - Backlot move to new premises
After two years in Broadwick Street, Backlot have moved into new temporary premises opposite the London Eye on the Southbank. We intend to move back to larger offices in Soho in the near future.
28.11.2011 - Materials Depot Implementation in the Philippines
During November Backlot have successfully replaced a local inventory management system in Manila, the Philippines with a new system. Backlot managed the entire process end to end including project management, analysis and design, as well as the on-site implementation and post implementation support. Thanks to the team in Manila who helped bring this project in on time and on song.
23.06.2011 - Legacy System Replacement for Paramount in France
Backlot are pleased to announce another successful implementation of MACCS this time for Paramount in France. Although this was the third territory implementation for Paramount, it was the first non-Greenfield territory where an existing system was being replaced. Backlot were instrumental in providing a successful migration from the legacy system to MACCS and were able to ensure any gaps between systems were covered to the client's satisfaction.
The replacement of a legacy system, parallel run and reconciliation takes time and effort but thanks to the territory knowledge and implementation skills of the Backlot team a seamless move was achieved.

23.11.2009 - MACCS Depot Module implemented in India
Backlot have successfully implemented the MACCS Depot module for Warner Bros. in India. The implementation took place over an 8 week period with Backlot being on site for nearly 4 weeks providing training, support and business process re-engineering. Apart from the new version of the MACCS application, we leave with the local office with a set of new business processes that streamline their logistics operations.
14.09.2009 - A Backlot first in Canada
Backlot and MACCS International are proud to have a new customer, and a new implementation, in the shape of Alliance Films in Canada.
On paper this implementation looked to provide a series of challenges, the replacement of an in-house system, intricate local tax rules and a legacy data migration. Fortunately none of these are new to Backlot or MACCS. With Backlot providing a custom migration of the legacy system data and the flexibility of the MACCS system handling the taxes, all challenges were overcome.
This was Backlot's first implementation in North America, as ever, we would like to extend our thanks to all involved.
28.03.2009 - MACCS successfully implemented in India
Backlot, together with Warner Bros. and MACCS International, are pleased to announce
another successful implementation of MACCS. This time for WB India, the first time
MACCS has been implemented on the sub-continent.
The Indian film industry is the largest in the world in terms of ticket sales and
number of films produced annually and we always knew such a territory would offer a
unique set of challenges. All of which we're happy to say were met by a combination of
dedicated staff and the use of both the MACCS theatrical and rights management solutions.
Backlot would like to thank all involved for their cooperation, dedication and commitment to
delivering this first. Hopefully the first of many ...
19.01.2009 - Another smooth MACCS implementation in Germany
Germany is the biggest international territory for most studios and Munich was the venue
for the latest wrap celebrations as Backlot with Paramount Pictures and MACCS International
completed the latest MACCS implementation - this time for Paramount's brand new German
operation. With a deadline to meet - the countrywide release of Revolutionary Road
on January 15 - the pressure was on to deliver a fully functioning system to a tight schedule.
Thanks to solid preparation by the team for the systems testing and the UAT, as well as a
clutch of late nights in the Chiswick office, paved the way for what proved to be a smooth
implementation.
This was second time round in Germany for Backlot's consultants - having also helped bring
home Warner Bros.' MACCS implementation in Hamburg 3 years before.

09.10.2008 - MACCS successfully implemented in Brazil
Backlot, together with Warner Bros. and MACCS International have successfully
implemented MACCS in WB Brazil. The implementation was a challenging one as
MACCS was replacing two highly customised local systems and the legacy DOS
based IDS system. It was also the first time that the MACCS Depot module was
implemented at the same time as the rest of the distribution system. All the
preparation and hard work paid off meaning that there was zero downtime in depot operations.
Backlot would like to thank the local office for their cooperation and commitment
during the implementation and of course for their hospitality!
04.07.2008 - MACCS successfully implemented in Spain
Backlot are proud to have played a major part in delivering Paramount Pictures' first ever implementation
of MACCS. With all eyes inevitably on the first project - for the newly opened Spanish office
in Madrid - there was much anticipation and not a little nervousness. The Spanish market is one that both
Backlot and MACCS have plenty of exposure to. That experience combined with a dedicated team meant
that success was definitely in the air - for we ended with the double Spanish celebration of a successful MACCS
implementation plus the small matter of Spain becoming the football champions of Europe!
